Carving Pumpkins

We carved pumpkins last night. We gave them sharpie pens to make their designs....i'm wondering why we did that?? Jack scribbled all over his pumpkin, Kaylin made some giant butterfly that we weren't able to cut very well, and Andrew was angry because he didn't want holes in his perfectly whole pumpkin.....hmmm, he must have the concept of "carving pumpkins" mixed up with something else. I decided not to carve mine because it's a pie pumpkin and I want to save it for when I make pumpkin pie.
